Project description

Aquatech Diving plays an essential role in the construction of the Weser Tunnel in Bremen, a strategic infrastructure project that completes the missing link in the ring road surrounding the city. The tunnel is being built underneath the river Weser and forms part of a broader expansion of the regional road network, improving traffic flow and connectivity throughout Northern Germany.

The construction of this underground motorway requires careful planning, safety measures and specialised execution. Aquatech Diving provides technical underwater services supporting both the construction process and preparatory phases.

Specialist diving works performed by Aquatech Diving:

• Placement of 27,000 m³ of underwater concrete
• Cleaning, assembling and installation of 3,750 Gewi anchors
• Construction pit inspection dives
• Cleaning of sheet piles
• Removal of silt
• Installation of reinforcement cages
• Installation of steel and auxiliary structures
• Cutting and burning of sheet piles and combi-walls

Through these activities, Aquatech Diving contributes directly to the safety, watertightness and structural quality of the tunnel. With certified commercial divers, high-quality equipment and process control in line with international standards, Aquatech Diving supports one of the most challenging and ambitious infrastructure projects in the region.
