Client: NOGAT| Neptune Energy
In the spring of 2023, a 36” concrete-coated gas pipeline was found to have a significant freespan during an ROV side scan sonar inspection. Aquatech Offshore was contracted to mobilize a suitable DSV to carry out detailed pipeline inspections and install 8.3-ton concrete doghouses to stabilize the pipeline and return it to the seabed.
Before the start of subsea operations, a comprehensive pipeline safety analysis was conducted by SMART Asset Integrity Solutions. Thanks to effective collaboration between the client, Aquatech Offshore and vessel provider GLOMAR, Aquatech Offshore successfully stabilized the pipeline within just 14 days of the client’s initial, urgent request for subsea intervention.
• Installation of concrete weight supports
• Pipeline inspection using visual methods, CP measurements and weld inspection
• Water temperature monitoring
• Airlifting operations
• Application of STOPAC for pipeline stabilization
Aquatech Offshore played a crucial role in this project, delivering safe and efficient subsea support to stabilize a freespan gas pipeline in the North Sea.
